I purchased this car in January from an owner who got it from an elderly lady who could not drive any longer. Had it inspected, other than the brakes all the way around everything seemed in very good condition for it's age. At that time seat belt worked for about 3 times, then stopped clicking into place. I since then have had to click it into the passenger side just to feel safe. According to the previous records I saw in glovebox, it doesn't appear that odometer was turned back, so looks like original miles. I feel that for such low miles and even if had higher miles there should be NO REASON WHY the seat belt should not work.
I chose a Toyota only because I compared it to my previous car which was a Nissan Sentra. Loved that car. Bought it brand new in 2001 and it has 318,000 original miles. It needs some non mechanical work which just was gonna cost far more than another used car thanks to the weather here in NE Ohio. Because I took such good care of it, it would have gotten 400,000 miles. But never a problem with seatbelts.
Since I have had it, I have noticed that this was a very cheaply made model with also a cassette player that also doesn't work and seems now the ac compressor may be bad. Neither of which ever went in my Nissan. My next new car will be another Nissan.
