The contact owns a 1997 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that the check engine indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. While driving less than 30 mph, she depressed the brake pedal with much force and the frontal air bags deployed without warning. She sustained minor lacerations to her arm. The dealer stated that the repair would approximately cost over $1,000 just for the driver's side air bag. The VIN was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 135,000.
While sitting at a light, consumer was rear ended by another vehicle with such great force that his vehicle slammed into the vehicle in front of him, consumer states the air bags did not deploy.

Vehicle was going 40-45mph when consumer T boned another vehicle that crossed in front of consumer. Neither airbag deployed, causing consumer to suffer from whiplash. Dealer stated "it was a good thing that air bag didn't deploy, it could have caused more injuries. Consumer was not given explanation why air bags did not deploy. A factory representative from Toyota inspected vehicle and stated air bags operated as they should have by not deploying.
Air bags failed to deploy upon impact with another vehicle at 45mph. 17 year old hit steering wheel. Other vehicle in front came to a sudden stop at the time. Front end was crushed backwards towards driver & passenger. Had emergency room treatment.
The airbags were recalled March of 1997, I do not know if were replaced or they are the original airbags. They did not deploy during the accident, and I would like to know my options.
Vehicle experienced air bag deployedment after starting vehicle and releasing the parking brake. After reporting the incident to manufacturer, consumer received a manufacturer's. recall notice on this problem.
Vehicle was involved in a frontal impact, speed approximately 35mph, neither airbag deployed upon impact, insurance company estimated damages $4,000, dealer cannot duplicate the problem.
When driving 20 mph the vehicle skidded on ice, crashed into a tree head-on and there was no deployment of driver's or passenger's side air bags. Damage amounted to the front end, totalled $8,000. The vehicle has not been repaired.
Driver attempted to start vehicle up, and when driver turned on the ignition the air bag deployed without any notice. Driver did not move vehicle or hit anything. The vehicle was in a park position and the air bag deployed.
