While traveling on the interstate, the rear passenger side tire blew out, causing consumer to loose control of vehicle, once the vehicle came to a stop consumer got out of vehicle and noticed that the rear driver side tire was also damaged, in which the treads were peeling off, consumer believes that the Firestone ft70C P175/65 R14 81S M+3 were rebuilt tires and believes that all Firestone tires should be investigated.
Husband was driving at approximately 70 mph when there was tread separation on Firestone tire. Driver began to swerve and lost control of vehicle when impacted by a Chevrolet, Blazer. Vehicle was forced off of road, and was smashed between tree and Blazer. Air bags did not deploy. Driver injured, fractured rib/ busted knee, and had slight concussion. Consumer received recall notice 96V107000 regarding air bag malfunction after incident. Vehicle was totaled.
