Purchased a new Toyota Camry Hybrid where, after driving 3720 miles, 'check engine' light turned on. Brought car to the dealer for fixing the problem but was later informed that the wiring system was damaged by rats and the warranty will not cover the repair. The rough estimate to fix was potentially about $6,000 which I am supposed to shoulder. I was also informed that this was a common occurrence on the Toyota. After searching the internet, I found out that this was a known problem due to past class-action lawsuits against Toyota. This was a potential safety hazard that would have caused me injuries at worse. Toyota should warn its buyers of the potential safety problems caused by rodents before selling. There should be a law passed to protect buyers from this kind of deception by Toyota for not properly informing buyers of this safety hazard.
