Using route guidance on the navigation system, I took a short departure from the planned route though it was still a marked highway. Usually, navigation systems will 'recalculate' and adapt to new route. This one doesn't, it stubbornly insisted for many many miles that I had to turn around and go back. I had to turn it off it was so annoying.

Poor algorithm in the mapping system. Toyota: you can do better!
