The vehicle sometimes kicks when the engine turns on to recharge the hybrid cells whether in park, drive, or reverse. The problem here is that when the engine kicks it causes the vehicle to leap forward or backwards enough for you to hit a parked vehicle in front or behind you while trying to maneuver in or out of the parked space.
