Above all, the safety is the most important feature of a car that needs to be taken care of. I'm really disappointed about Toyota's attitude about the safety feature.
Recently I had trouble with the warning sign of VSC which is Vehicle Stability Control module for Toyota. During the operation of a 2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid, the VSC warning signal was on at the entrance of the highway with a warning sound. I could not stop the car because of the highway situation. When I drove the car to the next exit of the highway I was almost in an accident since the car lost it's balance at speed of 50~60 MPH. I could not even make a higher speed or even stop normally since the anti-lock brake system was actuated and went on. When I tried to pull the car to the side way of highway and stepped on the brake pedal, the brake pedal kept vibrating and the car was out of control to the side and the power brake function did not work right.
After I discussed this with Toyota service, since the car was not operable anymore, I towed it to the dealer. Dealer estimated $3,000.00 to include major computer system change and labor which cannot be covered by warranty. When I filed complaint to the Toyota customer service, they did not care about the passenger's safety anymore. They tried to defend themselves and not pay a penny out of their pocket.
Nowadays, I am pretty much suspicious about Toyota's quality and perception of safety.
For the next purchase, I won't consider any Toyota product any more.
