This is the second time my 2020 Camry has gone dead after sitting overnight. It's really starting to get me upset. I was intrigued to see this issue has been reported by other owners as well. I'm going to be calling Toyota direct and filing a NHTSA complaint so the official record can be correct and up to date.
I can't stress enough how important it is for all customers to submit an official complaint. Anything less will never be reported and any potential issues with your car will never be addressed.
Update from Sep 25, 2020 So I took it in to the dealer and since this was the second occurrence, they really wanted to figure out what this was. Toyota gave them permission to tear my car apart from the inside out and report back. As I stated before, Toyota was aware of the bad batch of batteries that shipped for 2019 and some 2020's that was causing them to die overnight. But this was supposed to be taken care of and so they spent 30 days with my car trying to figure out what was causing this. The techs even took my car home and left it overnight at there house lol........iIdidn't mention I have a tracking device on it and could see this individual tech kinda had a lead foot and drove my car really aggressively, but oh well.
So after a complete teardown and techs driving and storing the car at there own houses for a full 30 days, all that was "fixed" was my battery. Yep, over $1000 out of Toyotas pocket for my rental and labor, and all they ended up doing was a new battery.
But I am happy to report that the car hasn't died overnight once since and everything related to that issue seems to be solved. The RCD is still off but I will have them reset that on my next visit.
