The brakes just stopped working. Got a message on the screen about "Low Braking Power. Stop in a safe place". The engine stopped working and the pedal (brake) was very hard. Thank God I was able to stop and not crash. I checked all car stored codes\errors - no codes and the car running normally now. I know that the 2018 Camry had recall about the brake vacuum pump but somehow my car wasn't in a recall list. Thank you
I was driving back home about 70 miles an hour and all the sudden i got a message on my dashboard saying that i have a low braking power and yes there was not power at all. The car did not brake at all there will be a lot of tragedies because that is very dangerous, i got very lucky i had the time to look for the emergency break pedal but very scary. I research if anybody had a problem like that and there is about 60 people that had gone trough the same problem and contacted toyota and see if they is a recall on this problem and they said no. Every car that i saw on the complaint list is at over 100 k, so once you hit the 100 k be very careful and by the way is a toyota camry 2018
Hello! When i am pushing the brake pedal it is very hard, like engine is of! I took my car to local diller and they was diagnosed that i have to replace brake vacuum pump, but i have to pay for that service $1350... but i know that Toyota hade recall exactly for this part of brake sistem. I chaked my car for this recall but there is no recall for my car, only fuel pump is... but fact is that my car have same problem, why it is not qualifay fo recall i don-??t understand. Can you help me figure it out why i have to pay, when thousands of other car was repaired for free by dillers? Thank you

I was driving 75 mph on I-10 East going into Houston when I received a low braking power warning. My brakes were useless and I had to use the slow down gradually and slowly used the emergency brake. There is a safety recall on the vaccum pump for this year and model but my car did not qualify for this.

I was driving down the street approaching a red light when all of a sudden my brakes just went out. I had to veer off too keep from hitting the car in front of me.
Sunday night March 21/2021 8:37pm I was driving in staten island with a passenger, way to dropp him off, over 40mph, and sudden my car had a brakes failure, on my dashboard appears a code 'low braking power', we were in panic, and I was approaching to a line of car in an stop light in red, I was pushing my brakes several times but never response, I had to maneuver my car to the right shoulder and there was people crossing and finally I got push my emergency brake.(I have he video in full hd as evidence)
An emergency message came on telling me my brakes were losing power band I needed to pull over to a safe area. I was on the freeway! I could not push down. I had to use the parking break and go into a lower gear to get to the shoulder then my car came to a stop in the crosswalk of the freeway exit. Vacuum pump stopped working. Went in to replace it and the backside is decentigrated into the motor. Needs camshaft assembly/exhaust replaced, investigate the motor to look for pieces so they don't damage the motor, no gear at the end of the vacuum pump, it has gone down not the motor
My automatic emergency braking system has been going off even when a car is nowhere near, today I was involved in an accident due to the automatic emergency braking system. When going to yield, the warning light came on, and it felt like the car stalled, I could not manually brake and it resulted in me rear ending the person in front of me.

If you slow to a roll then try to accelerate, it jerks real bad like it does not know what gear to go into. Tapping from the engine bay that comes and goes. The brake assist feature cause my rotors to get warped right after replacing them. Lane keeping assist will yank you over into a turning lane if you aren't super careful.
While driving the car refused to stop. It was very hard to press the brake, and it would not stop. Initially it would not go in park or neutral. After circling the parking children in fear, it went in park and came to an abrupt stop. Apon taking it to a mechanic I was told I need to replace the brake vacuum pump.
I don't feel safe driving my Toyota Camry 2018. The car feel very heavy when driving, tge steering wheel are stiff and difficult to move sometimes. The brakes are not stable like they should even after I paid for it to be fix. The gas gauge refuse to open when it's time to fuel gas the car makes noises. It's very frustrating and it's not worth what I pay for.
