A couple months after owning this new Camry, I began smelling coolant when I would roll my window down or park my car and exit. I inspected the engine bay several times and never found any signs of leaking. The coolant level was still the same each time I checked as well. The scent is very strong when I go through a drive thru with my window down. I know other people must be able to smell it as well and it is embarrassing.
I went to the dealership for my first scheduled maintenance and told them about the smell. With my car still running, the tech walks over and sniffs between the hood and windshield. He then says, Yep! I smell it too. I wait for them to check out that issue and the issue with the transmission, after 3 hours of waiting the service manager calls me into his office and says they found no leaks or issues with the cooling system. He then tells me that the scent I'm smelling is most likely "new motor" scent. Maybe, maybe not. I know what antifreeze smells like, you can't mistake that smell.
Either way, nothing was resolved and I still smell it every time I drive with my windows down or at a drive thru.
