At a complete stop, then pressing the accelerator, the car doesn't want to move. The engine revs, then suddenly, it's like it figures out it needs to be in drive. Feels like the transmission is slipping to me. In addition, the car also appears to lose power while going down the road, like it slips out of gear and then it finds it again. I've other reports here, it definitely feels like the transmission or some electronics that tell it when to to shift and not to shift. This just started so I haven't taken it in to Toyota yet, but I will schedule it today. I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY "WE CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM". My response will be fix it or else.

Automatic transmission hesitated so bad that my girlfriend did not want to ride in my car because it made her car sick. She hadn't been car sick in any other car. The car would slow down but the engine would rev up and then jerk when the gear changed. The slower you went to get better gas mileage the worse it was. Contacted by email the salesman from Yark Toyota in Toledo and he didn't even return my email. Came in on my first oil change and they said it was normal. The car I test drove did not shift as bad. Sales manager was contacted they would not do anything about it.

Not sure if the transmission actually slips or appears to slip because it goes into the wrong gear. It frequently can't figure out what to do when accelerating to pass and ends up feeling like it's slipping though I am pretty sure it is just in the wrong gear (which is a REALLY bad time for a transmission to be undecided). Also, from the time it was new it has had weak acceleration which I first thought was a weak engine (though it has more horsepower than my old Accord which accelerates much more sharply) but it seems once again like it is related to the transmission. Although the brochure said the 2016 Camry has a 6 speed auto it feels like the Corolla which has a CVT. I didn't buy the Corolla because I rented one for a week and couldn't stand the quirky CVT. I wish I hadn't bought the Camry either.

I have a 2016 fairly new Toyota Camry with only 16,000 miles with the best warranty I could get when I bought it.This car drives horribly. It trembles when stopped and in drive. The transmission hesitates and seems to lose power when accelerating.The dealer keeps saying they cannot replicate the problem, which I believe is code for "we can't figure out what the problem is". This car has been driven gently and is well maintained. How in the world does a car supposedly covered by a warranty start giving these types of problems and Toyota is not taking responsibility? I was told by everyone to buy a Toyota because they are great cars! This is the worst car I have ever owned and it has been less than a year. I am stuck with a car that drives horribly now and will be paying for it for years to come. Thanks Toyota!
