Own a recently acquired, August 2014.5 Toyota Camry XLE with less than 5000 miles on it. I drove the car around earlier in the week, and it seemed fine.
My wife took the car yesterday to the local grocery store, and comes out and the battery is dead. She calls me of course.
I come back to camp, I will explain camp later, and get my meter. I go to the place where the car is parked, and check the battery, and it reads 4.8 volts. How can a 12 volt battery go down that far in a couple of miles without a direct short somewhere.
Now, we are staying at the townhouse, (camp) because the earlier 2014 Camry we had started a fire in our garage forcing us out until it gets rebuilt. That fire started in the car, the battery area and caused $373,000 damage to our house and contents. That vehicle showed the same symptoms of this car, having the battery go dead twice, being taken to the dealership and being told twice there was NOTHING WRONG WITH IT.
Yeah, we know, we must be gluttons of punishment to buy another Camry.
We are expected to move back into our newly rebuilt house on Wednesday the 14th. There is NO WAY this car is going to be parked in it.
