While driving have noticed shuddering at random times. Car just now has 134k on it and the service records never showed what computer update was done. Was unaware of any issues with torque converter issues. Have had cruise control set to speed limit and had car acceleration up to 25miles over speed set, car has also slowed down without anything being changed. Went to dealership because torque converter tsb and was told it was out of warranty in Aug 2021. had ecm reprogrammed with original owner in 2014... toyota knew this was an issue and never corrected parts
The car stutters really bad at low speeds, I went to the dealership and they said I was outside of warranty by two weeks but it was the torque converter, I have been having this problem off and on for years but thought it was something small because it wouldn't last long, however for the past 3 months or so it has gotten progressively worse and does it every time, we thought we would have to pay for a diagnostics which is over $100 which is why we didn't take it sooner, however the day that we took it they said it was out of warranty by 2 weeks and when we called Toyota they would not take responsibility for it even though this is a known issue with my year make and model Toyota, just asking for help getting this hazardous and safety issue recalled.
The issue did not happen on a consist basis until last month. Everytime I drive my car hesitates. It takes a minute or two for my car to accelerate. It doesn't matter if I'm on a local road, interstate or going up a hill. The outcome is the same.
On Thursday October 10, around 02:05am in huntington avenue and parker hill avenue in boston Massachusetts. I was at the traffic light on red, foot on brake and the light turned green and immediately I stepped on the accelerator my car sped off over 70mph which I know on the city road on a rainy day it is a 25mph zone. In an attempt to slow down with brakes my car started spinning, it circled in the same high speed about three times, stopped and returned to normal. Fortunately for us it was an empty street during that early hours and thank god it did not crash into any person or property. We continued to the final destination without any issues.
I was parking on my church parking lot, pulling up to the building and barely moving. Suddenly the car accelerated and slammed into the church building. I then put it in reverse to see the damage, and it shot backwards into a car and the church van.
For the last week my vehicle has been randomly stalling out intermittently. There have been no check engine lights, codes or other issues. On the morning of June 9th 2018 my vehicle continued accelerating without my foot on the pedal. It barely stopped causing me to go over a curb damaging bumper and brake caliper. I am not driving the vehicle and it cannot be looked at until June
I was visiting someone at a hospital. I entered the parking garage and proceeded to the 2nd floor. I began to enter a parking space slowly with my foot on the brake pedal, when the car accelerated at a high rate of speed all by itself forward, slamming into the baring wall in front of me. After crashing into the wall, the engine is still going loudly, (revving) and the tires are spinning. I was pushing on the brake pedal so hard to try and get the car to stop, or shut down, that I broke 2 bones in my foot. The airbags went off, injuring my chest. I finally got the car to stop, by throwing it in park.
The contact owns a 2013 Toyota Camry. When the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle would not accelerate. The dealer was unable to diagnose or repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,000. Updated 05/05/17
Problem with acceleration the car doesn't accelerate more than 30M/H daignosed bu Toyota dealer as throttle pedal position sensor failure.the car has 94K only although I have extended warantee purchesed when I bought the car but Toyota company refuse to honour it saying it's only covering engine and transmission.
When accelerating from a stop the vehicle will sometimes move about 10 feet and then hesitate for about 1 to 2 seconds. It will then accelerate normally
The contact owned a 2013 Toyota Camry. While driving at a low speed, the vehicle independently accelerated. In addition, the steering wheel seized and the brake pedal was depressed, but failed to respond. As a result, the contact crashed into a pole. The contact was unsure if the air bags deployed. The contact sustained injuries to the legs, back, and left arm that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed and deemed destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN and failure mileage were unknown. Updated 08/04/16
Occasionally, the car hesitates after accelerating from a complete stop. The car will move forward for a few feet, but the gas pedal will become unresponsive while still stepping on the gas pedal. It will gain some acceleration after releasing and stepping on it again. After this happens, I have to repeatedly release and step on the gas pedal because it idles frequently preventing me from "moving forward, " until I reach the desire speed limit. The software was updated, but the problem still persist. I took it to the dealership to be disappointed once again.
Clicking when in reverse and appling brakes shifting brake pads ? coming to stop car seems to shift to neutral ( better gas mileage) " going up hill 70 T0 75 mph in cruise control car will down shift 1 or 2 gears this is the way the car programed. On all issues Toyota claims their is nothing they can do as the car is operating according to specs. They tell me the car is safe I have concerns as to how. Why is their a noise in the brakes " why is the car down shifting they say their is a disclaimer not to use cruise in mountains. They seem to have a problems they can`T fix
