I (or my company, under Car Ownership program for employee) bought a new camry 2.5 automatic in january 2013 in Jakarta. it was manufactured Dec 2012.I live in Jakarta.
The problem: when ever it rains or get wet, there will be a yellow triangle sign (warning sign) with beeping sound, and the word" Hood opened" in the dash board. The hood is never opened when ever this happen!
I have brought to the authorized toyota dealer (Auto 2000 - by Astra motor in Jakarta, Indonesia) four times, the last time being yesteday , May 27, 2013. This problem has started since around two months ago, when the km is only 2000. Now the km is around 5000.
Yesterday at Toyota, they changed the locked under the hood( I don't know what exactly the part is called, but the dealer has to imported from Japan). Today, it rains and the problem happened again.
I have been really annoyed with this problem.
I think it must be some kind of electrical sensor problem, and should be easy to fix. But till now, the problem still exist and I seems like the dealer has no idea how to solve it.
The car price is RP 505 million (more than US 50,000 equivalent). How can an expensive car like this, give me a much more annoying problem than a cheaper one?
