This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Flat tire in home garage. Oe pantograph (scissor) jack was used in attempt to raise car. Excessive torque was necessary to begin lift, up to limit of flimsy jack handle. As vehicle neared top of necessary lift, jack flipped over sideways and was propelled out from under car with some force. Car fell. No injury or damage because I observed all safety precautions while lifting. Jack is flimsy, too small for the car, and has much too small a base. This occurred on level concrete floor. Markings on jack include: 2J141, 2012, and made in Canada.
