After today's service, the dealer told me I need 4 new tires, after 26400 miles now. The OEM Bridgestone tires all out, even though I did regular service and we a mature drivers.
On last service, my 2 year old battery was out and replaced. I do not know why Toyota quality has dropped so tremendously these days. I had a 1995 Toyota Camry and sold to my friend last year and he is still driving with happy.
Tires are soft, the techs at Toyota know this. The sales people know this. They are falsely advertising.
Please use good quality tires that actually last 60,000 miles or just drop the price on the car and state the truth, the tires on the vehicle will only last you 20,000, tops 25,000.
During our routine maintenance the tech that was going over my papers mentioned that my tires are getting close to replacing, this was year a go when the car only had 15,000 miles. I told him that the tires are Michelin and rated for 60,000 miles. The tech laughts at and stated something like "these are soft tires that come with the car, they don't last more then 20,000 on average."
I got the tires rotated as recommended per manufacturer, I used winter tires which are mounted on separate steel rims. The tires are not rated for 60,000 miles, the tech is aware, so are the dealers. They are baiting and switching. Toyota should replace the tires, or pay for the tires to be replaced.
I PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW IN OCT 2010. PROBLEM WAS NOTICED AS EARLY AS WHEN I BOUGHT IT, BUT I HAD NO IDEA WHAT IT WAS. TOOK TO DEALER AT LEAST THREE TIMES OVER THE TIME I HAVE HAD CAR, WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. THIS PROBLEM IS SO BAD I AM AFRAID TO TAKE MY CAR OUT-OF-TOWN. AS FAR AS I CAN TELL, THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL. MY CAR SOUNDS LIKE A LARGE TRUCK (WHOP, WHOP SOUND) WHEN BEING DRIVEN. IT PRODUCES A VERY ROUGH RIDE, LOUD WHOP WHOP SOUND ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVEN IN EXCESS OF 30 MPH.
I STARTED BUYING TOYOTA (COROLLA) IN THE EARLY 70'S WHILE STATION OVERSEAS AND PURCHASED THE LAST ONE BEFORE THIS IN 2000. THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST VEHICLE I HAVE EVER OWNED AND THE DEALER(S) HAVE DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. DEALER HAS CHANGED NAMES AT LEAST THREE TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR. I WOULD LIKE THE PROBLEM CORRECTED, OR MONIES REFUNDED.
Do not buy cars with Bridgestone EL400 tires on them because you will be replacing them by the time they are two years old or 15,000 miles. My new 2011 camry xle 4cyl. was built at SIA, Subaru of Indiana in America and came with these tires on it. After having the camry a year and a half now, the tires make a loud recurring vibrating sound. Had an alignment done at 11,000 miles and have had tires rotated at recommended intervals at toyota dealership and noise still continues. Give me a break! Toyota, it should be a no brainer to put better oem tires on your cars to prevent needless headaches and additional costs for customers. I hope the 2012 camrys built in Indiana do not have these worthless tires put on them or complaints will continue. Duh!!!
