This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while pulling into a parking space, the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration causing the driver to loose control of the steering and crash into a metal fence. During the crash the driver sustained a neck injury. No police report was filed. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.
When gased, even lightly, the vehicle accelerates suddenly and aggressively. When rolling, without the driver accelerating, the vehicle self-accelerates. This has been noticed since it was purchased in 2014. Due to this concern, the vehicle is seldom driven.
The problem is a faulty fuel pump. While in motion, the car stalls. It has stalled on city streets and on the highway. The engine shuts off. Toyota has a recall coming for fuel pumps on Toyota and Lexus vehicles. The recall is to be announced in March of 2020, but I'm not sure the 2010 Camry is included, but it has the same problem, and the problem occurs on a daily basis.
The engine burns oil excessively over 5 qts per oil change every 5000 miles. I'm afraid this engine may fail on the highway and create unsafe situation during regular commutes. I also believe this problem is getting progressively worse, this oil burning started 4 years ago at a smaller rate 1 -2 qt per oil change now it has doubled. There has been a Toyota extended warranty issued from Toyota for this exact problem for 2009 Camry, but Toyota refuses to give this warranty to 2010 Camry owners.they say any engine damages is the customers responsibility. Toyota needs to issue another recall or warranty extension for this 2010 year and any others experiencing the same issue.
Ever since I have owned this car I've noticed the accelerator and brakes are extremely touch and impossible to accelerate smoothly from a stop. The brakes are also extremely touchy so it's hard to come to a smooth stop without jerking. I have never had a problem like this and after reading all the complaints about about the accelerator and brakes I'm very worried that my car will eventually cause an accident. I would like to know if the people who had accidents or near accidents had this problem before the car went out of control. When using speed control it will always blink and have to be turned off and

I applied the brakes slowly as I was driving on the highway moving about 25 mph and instead of slowing down, the car accelerated--it jolted forward! I stepped on the brakes harder. This happened twice on one drive--I almost hit an 18 wheeler. Is there something I should do? I'm not sure if it is safe to drive.
Twice while driving last week the car abruptly and on its own, accelerated to a very high rate of speed. The first time, I was able to slow it down. The second time I pumped on the brakes several times, without result. I kept pumping and it was very difficult to stop. Several more attempts and I was able to stop the car. The engine revved over and over and it took quite a bit of effort to actually stop the car. The engine only stop revving up when I put the car in park which gave a huge jolt to the car. I was able to stop, but not easily. I had my young son in the car with me and it was incredibly scary. The engine only stopped revving when I put the car in park which caused a huge jolt of the car.
Was driving about 45 mph, engine suddenly went to idle while petal was still depressed. Let off the pedal and pushed it down again and it started to work again.
