CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 Camry used to be adorned with our “Seal of Pretty Good” but that was before an alarming number of complaints started rolling in for excessive oil consumption.

Owners are being caught off-guard with how quickly their cars are running out of oil. No leaks, no spills, just 1 quart of vanishing oil in as little as 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains this is “normal” for the 2AZ-FE engine, even though they issued a TSB for the problem in August of 2011.

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Camry with Bridgestone turanza EL400 tires, line size P215/60/. the contact stated that the tire tread began to separate. The contact took the vehicle to the manufacturer and was told that the tires were feathering. The alignment was checked and the contact was advised that the alignment was normal. The manufacturer stated the failure was common in his particular model tires. The contact stated he was never made aware of an issue with the tires. The failure mileage was 16,000. The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Camry equipped with Bridgestone turanza EL400 tires, tire size 215/60/16. The contact stated that the tread on all four tires exhibited premature wear. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and tire manufacturer where they were unable to provide assistance. The tires were not replaced.
