CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 Camry used to be adorned with our “Seal of Pretty Good†but that was before an alarming number of complaints started rolling in for excessive oil consumption.
Owners are being caught off-guard with how quickly their cars are running out of oil. No leaks, no spills, just 1 quart of vanishing oil in as little as 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains this is “normal†for the 2AZ-FE engine, even though they issued a TSB for the problem in August of 2011.

i just got this car right before new years as a gift from my parents for christmas. 6 months later, transmission started acting up. gears were downshifting at random when throttling and even when braking gently. 2nd gear to first gear lagged and down shifted late causing me to jerk forward a bit. gas on pedal caused rps to jump up, yet next gear was not engaged causing rpms to shot up wthout changing gears. skipping stopped after i parked with the E brake. after that, reverse started to not work. i took it to toyota dealership, they said its the start of the wear and tear on transmission. WTF? i bought it 6 monthes ago. how the heck could it be transmision issues? i just got this car? they sold me a lemon and i was past the 6 months. i could do anything about it, $20,000 in debt, and i cant even drive my car. THANKS TOYOTA YOU PIECE OF SHIP.transmission f*cks up after heavy braking. uphill braking also f*cks up. some please sue toyota and spread the love. make them pay for this and put in a recall. changed transmission oil. changed engine oil. same sh*t. toyota said all they could do is re teach the transmission to shift. which is stupid cuz i got this car from them and they are not fixing the issue? the transmission has a lot more problems behind it than i think.
