CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 Camry used to be adorned with our “Seal of Pretty Good” but that was before an alarming number of complaints started rolling in for excessive oil consumption.

Owners are being caught off-guard with how quickly their cars are running out of oil. No leaks, no spills, just 1 quart of vanishing oil in as little as 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains this is “normal” for the 2AZ-FE engine, even though they issued a TSB for the problem in August of 2011.

Possible steering issue with my 2009 Toyota Camry. Car drifts to the left even after dealership has aligned the front end. First alignment was needed right after I took possession of my new car March-April 2009, and 2nd time in the summer of 2009. The vehicle shouldn't need constant alignments, not sure what the problem is, should be investigated.

Purchased 2009 Toyota Camry (with 11,000 miles - demo, on the drive home noticed it was pulling to the right. Being a new car, we scheduled to have it fixed, and on ride home, it pulled to the left. At times during the ride, it seemed to switch pulling between the right and left. The car is practically brand new (12,000 miles)with no damage from owners.

We own a 2009 Camry. As has been reported regarding the Toyota corolla, our Camry also has a problem of drifting at high to medium speeds. The driver must be constantly alert to this problem to ensure the vehicle remains in its lane. Our Toyota dealer acknowledged the problem but said it was a tire problem, not related to our car's steering system. We purchased new tires but the problem remains. We believe the steering problem reported on the corolla also exists in our Camry and that this unsafe situation should be carefully investigated.

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Camry. Whenever the contact drove the vehicle at any speeds including 20 mph, he noticed that the vehicle would slightly pull to the left. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact had all four tires replaced which included a steering alignment; however, the failure has continued to occur. The failure has occurred since the vehicle was purchased. The current and failure mileages were 25000.

I purchased my 2009 Camry in 2008 mid summer, everything is fine except that at or about 8000 miles I notice that the alignment was off and it would pull slightly to the left. I took the vehicle into the dealership and the problem seemed to be fixed. At or about 12,000 miles, the alignment was off and still pulling to the left again. It seems there is a problem with the alignment and I feel that it should be looked at.
