CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 Camry used to be adorned with our “Seal of Pretty Good†but that was before an alarming number of complaints started rolling in for excessive oil consumption.
Owners are being caught off-guard with how quickly their cars are running out of oil. No leaks, no spills, just 1 quart of vanishing oil in as little as 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains this is “normal†for the 2AZ-FE engine, even though they issued a TSB for the problem in August of 2011.

Toyota covered all 4 door lock actuators under warranty twice. Each door look was replaced, but the third time each door lock started to fail again, this time not under warranty. They failed to see that there was a pattern in these locks failing. They wanted to charge about $500 a door lock to be replaced out of warranty. This was crazy. Toyota should get some quality control on these locks. Usually Toyota is good about quality control but this one is a failure for sure. I ended up fixing all 4 door locks myself. Each door lock was between $150-$180 each. The markup they make is crazy on these lock replacements. How many locks need to be affected before a class action can be filed? Some other cars I owned never had to change a door lock actuator.
