CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 Camry used to be adorned with our “Seal of Pretty Good†but that was before an alarming number of complaints started rolling in for excessive oil consumption.
Owners are being caught off-guard with how quickly their cars are running out of oil. No leaks, no spills, just 1 quart of vanishing oil in as little as 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains this is “normal†for the 2AZ-FE engine, even though they issued a TSB for the problem in August of 2011.

Dash board melting, glares making difficult to drive and front windshield is hazzy, not clear view of road. May be melted polymers vapor I am breathing ?
The dashboard has become very sticky and shiny, causing a glare from the sun. This is very dangerous while driving. I have taken the car to Toyota and they could not and would not do anything about it. I see I am not the only one having this problem and believe the dashboard should be recalled.
The dashboard is sticky and produces a bright glare onto the windshield, making it very difficult to look through. I have tried to clean it thinking it was gunk or build up, but it doesn't not do any good or changes anything to the material. It continues to be very sticky. This is not only a hazard, but also very unaesthetic. This is very dangerous.

About six months ago I noticed that the dashboard on my Toyota looked very shiny and felt very sticky. As the months went on I noticed that when the car was left in the sun the dashboard became extremely sticky, and when touched, the melted material stuck to my fingers. The dashboard is literally melting., it is difficult to drive in the daylight in the bright sun, as the shine from the dashboard forms a glare on the windshield. This makes it difficult to read signs or see the traffic lights. I live in Florida where it is hot and sunny most of the time. I feel that this is a safety hazard.
My 2009 Toyota Camry dashboard is also sticky with a hi gloss shine. I did not do any thing about it or say anything about it to the dealer because I don't drive the car much. I bought it brand new and I have only 2100 miles on it. I am really concern about it now because I am driving it more often. The sun is causes a bad reflection / glare on the window which, I can barely see through the windshield. I found that other owners are experiencing the same issue. This is a hazard and there should be a recall before any additional accident occur.
The dashboard in the car is melting. The melting is very sticky and shiny. This causes a glare on the dashboard which is very bad in the Louisiana sun, especially while driving into the sun, which I do every day on the way to and on the way back from work. This glare has almost caused me to get into several wrecks because it's hard to see. I have very sensitive eyes and I do wear sunglasses, but the glare is still very bright. There should be a recall on this issue as I see it's not an isolated issue and I would hate to get into a wreck because of it and possibly have someone or myself hurt or killed.
The dashboard is sticky like it is melting. The sticky stuff on the dashboard creates a glare when the sun hits it at certain angles. Also, the dashboard has cracked and I am concerned this will affect the functioning of the air bags.
Sticky and shiny dashboard: My dashboard is very sticky and it's difficult to clean but not only that but there is the glare and when that comes up I can't really see where I am going properly. It's quite dangerous since the shiny dashboard makes even more difficult to see the road and traffic lights when sun hit right at you. In order for me to drive I have to lean down a little bit and go in between the two glare spots.
The dashboard of my 2009 Toyota Camry is melting. We live in Kentucky so it is not just warmer weather states like Toyota states it is. The melting causes a glare that is dangerous. I have been lucky others may not. I contacted Toyota they really could care less. How many people need to get hurt before action is taken?
The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the glue on the dashboard was deteriorating causing a glare on the windshield. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnostic testing. The technician stated that the entire dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 44,500.
The dashboard began to "melt" and become sticky. It has become progressively worse, to the point it is now about an 80% liquid appearance. The dash material that doesn't have the liquid appearance is extremely soft and quite easily damaged. It cannot be cleaned, as any type of cleaning cloth or sponge immediately sticks to the surface. No cleaners or protectants have ever been applied.
Like many others I have read about online my dashboard is melting and sticking causing a constant glare in my windshield making it hard to see in front of me. I strongly believe this is an ongoing and dangerous issue that should be addressed by the automakers.
The dashboard has become very sticky and causes dangerous sunlight to reflect from it to the windshield. Nothing will resolve the stickiness. I contacted the local Toyota dealership and was told it seemed to be a problem with the Camry's but no offer of help. I have searched and cannot find a recall for this defect, looking up the problem on the internet, there appears to be many people with the same complaint. Please recall.
The dash board is very sticky and went the sunlights hit in directly it reflects the sun into my eyes this occurs every day. I live in puerto rico and this is my travel car every day when the sun is always shining. This make me cause to put a tinted glass paper to reduce the sunlight reflection frontal the dashboard but it continue to reflects the sun light.
