Owners are being caught off-guard with how quickly their cars are running out of oil. No leaks, no spills, just 1 quart of vanishing oil in as little as 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains this is “normal†for the 2AZ-FE engine, even though they issued a TSB for the problem in August of 2011.
We read that a couple had the steering wheel fall off while driving in a 2010 Toyota Prius & they were told by Toyota that "this would not happen again". Well here is the same steering wheel detachment problem in our 2009 Toyota Camry. It came off & fell in my lap.
I was wondering if there are any suggestions on how to handle this situation, because at this point we are at a loss on our car where we will be paying for the cost. They want us to pay $1500 out of pocket because no one was killed.
