CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 Camry used to be adorned with our “Seal of Pretty Good†but that was before an alarming number of complaints started rolling in for excessive oil consumption.
Owners are being caught off-guard with how quickly their cars are running out of oil. No leaks, no spills, just 1 quart of vanishing oil in as little as 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains this is “normal†for the 2AZ-FE engine, even though they issued a TSB for the problem in August of 2011.
The dealer changed the radio once under extended warranty but took the car to Toyota service center to have it inspected again on 10/22/2016 for the same reason as in 2014 ( radio does not turn on or off, screen goes black) The advisor recommended to buy a generic radio and have it install at Best Buys as it was cheaper that way because my warranty was over.
"Premium" JBL radio lost all control of volume and Bluetooth connectivity. Replaced under warranty FOUR times. Final result was a storage door that no longer closes correctly but the radio works. Should have known that this car was awful back then as we experienced several more problems as the car aged.
