Owners are being caught off-guard with how quickly their cars are running out of oil. No leaks, no spills, just 1 quart of vanishing oil in as little as 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains this is “normal†for the 2AZ-FE engine, even though they issued a TSB for the problem in August of 2011.
2009 Toyota Camry. WTF mode, defrost is affected, doesn't work properly, AC/heat stops working but the fan still works, rpms and speedometer stop working, temperature gauge drops to cold, the ABS light and brake light come on and this is WTF mode. Very unsafe in the rain and humidity and cold defrost helps you to see in different weather situations so it needs to be recalled. It doesn't seem to affect the car when driving as far as the ride goes but it's annoying.
I've talked to mechanics, they don't know much more than I do. But from researching the car symptoms I read that it's a short in the ABS actuator pump module that causes this WTF mode . To replace the ABS actuator pump module from Japan brand-new is like damn near $3,000, American made is like $2,000, used is like $500 but why are we paying to replace this expensive part when it should be recalled for safety issues due to the defrost inability to perform accurately in different weather scenarios.
Some reviews say that the short is caused by an oil leak or brake fluid leak or spill on the ABS actuator pump module. They suggest locating the actuator and cleaning it off will correct the problem but many people leave the same reviews for their Camrys too without knowledge on what to do so try this and write a review on it. The cheapest option would be to see if cleaning the ABS actuator pump module would solve WTF Mode. I also need to find out how this can be considered for a recall.
