CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 Camry used to be adorned with our “Seal of Pretty Good†but that was before an alarming number of complaints started rolling in for excessive oil consumption.
Owners are being caught off-guard with how quickly their cars are running out of oil. No leaks, no spills, just 1 quart of vanishing oil in as little as 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains this is “normal†for the 2AZ-FE engine, even though they issued a TSB for the problem in August of 2011.

This is my 4th camry and this part has never failed in my other vehicles. The car will be 4 years old in April 2013, and currently has 29,000 miles. There have been 3 safety recalls on this vehicle in the past 2 years, which leads me to think there are quality control issues. I spoke to Customer Service at Toyota, and they're wlling to provide the part, $321.00, at no charge, however the labor is $200.00 from the dealer. This indicates to me they're aware of this problem. I would like to know if other people have experienced problems with the door latch assembly.
