The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving approximately 10 mph into a parking lot the vehicle violently jerked forward and accelerated while the brake pedal was engaged. The contact had to apply force to the steering wheel due to the sudden acceleration to no avail. The vehicle surged on an incline, crashed into a fence, and also crashed into a rear sliding door of a house. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained minor injuries and was being treated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 157,000.
2008 Toyota Camry with brake failure. Consumer states that the brakes failed while trying to stop. He states the vehicle did not seem to slow down and that the airbags did not deploy. The consumer stated he noticed the ABS did not activate as it was designed. When he applied the brake, he noticed a lack of pulsing. He quickly released his foot from the brake and re-applied pressure to no avail. Consequently, the consumer crashed into the rear of truck. The consumer stated the other vehicle stopped abruptly due to traffic congestion and the roads were slick. The consumers vehicle was deemed totaled by the insurance company.
A head on collision cause an injury to the driver's left arm, neck bruises, shoulder chest, back and back of my head due to the air bag failed to deploy after a strong impact in the front of my vehicle.
The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the front passenger side air bag sensor does not work. His wife weighs 100 pounds, but the sensor does not always activate when she is seated in the passenger seat. The dealer stated that the vehicle was designed to sense a greater weight size and nothing could be done to correct the design. The manufacturer agreed with the dealer.
