CarComplaints.com Notes: Owners are reporting that their engines are running out of oil awfully quick. As in, 1 quart every 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains that’s with the “normal†operating range of the 2AZ-FE while owners maintain that’s complete BS.
I had barely had this car a year I live in Alabama. I had a warranty limited and looked like everything that happen they would say it was not covered. I was told the thermostat was sticking, had it replaced, only lasted for about 3 months so. I just took it out myself that lasted for about 6 months before I had to put it in the shop again. This time I went to firestone and they claim they put water pump, radiator and thermostat in the car, it did fix the problem. Only the engine light would come on and I would constantly have to add coolant and oil.
beware of company call coastal.these people trumped up test to say it was my negligence that caused the problem, just to keep from honoring the warranty i purchased from them at a cost of $2,000 dollars.I damn them and toyota for having business relations with such shysters.I once thought there were no autos compared to toyota, but after this experience you could not give me one.also i will do everything in my power to keep anyone else from purchasing one.
