CarComplaints.com Notes: Owners are reporting that their engines are running out of oil awfully quick. As in, 1 quart every 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains that’s with the “normal†operating range of the 2AZ-FE while owners maintain that’s complete BS.
The issue may be the result of defective piston rings.

Around mid July, I noticed my paint looked dull and thought if I waxed it the shine would return. I've always used turtle wax ice with good results, did not have any on hand and the local stores did not have it so I tried Turtle wax had shell wax. I could not get the shine I was used to and assumed it was the wax or maybe I had applied it wrong. I would wash the car with Turtle car wash soap and it looked shinny but upon close inspection just didn't have that shine that my cars have always had. I tried several times to wax again just in small spots with the same bad results. I couldn't imagine what I was doing wrong....... I finally found the Turtle wax Ice and set today aside to tackle the waxing. Much to my dismay, I was getting the same results.... an extremely DULL, LIFELESS, NO SHINE FINISH on the hood, the trunk and places on the side of the car!!!!! To make matters worse my daughter stopped by, she is still driving my 1998 Camry LE (green in color), and her finish is much more shiny than my "08. I was REALLY ANGRY!!! There is no difference in the way the "08 has been taken care of!!!!! I continued to wax the entire car and a neighbor of mine stopped by and said the paint had oxidized. I've never had this happen and don't know what that means so I am going to do some research and I plan on driving to TRI COUNTY TOYOTA IN LIMERICK, PA (where I purchased the car) and speak to them about it. I AM PISSED..... This is my 3rd white Toyota and I've never seen such a mess. I read some of the other complaints about the bad paint and am getting more upset because it sounds as if TOYOTA is not taking responsibility for the faulty paint. I've owned 4 TOYOTAS and am a loyal and proud owner..... This is not the type of quality I have come to expect. I am hoping the dealer is willing to help.... their answer will determine my next step!! I am straight up DISGUSTED!!!!!! There is NO good reason for a bad paint job......NONE!!!!!!!
