CarComplaints.com Notes: Owners are reporting that their engines are running out of oil awfully quick. As in, 1 quart every 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains that’s with the “normal†operating range of the 2AZ-FE while owners maintain that’s complete BS.
This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I've owned this car since May 2016 and everything worked fine until this morning when I got in my car and started it up and then turned on my driver's side heated leather seat. There was a strong burning smell coming from the seat so I immediately turned it off. The seat had been turned on 1 minute or less. I store my car in my garage at all times and there is nothing under my seat that could be keeping the warmer from working correctly. I haven't noticed that smell with the passenger seat. I have a 2008 Toyota Camry SE.
