CarComplaints.com Notes: Owners are reporting that their engines are running out of oil awfully quick. As in, 1 quart every 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains that’s with the “normal†operating range of the 2AZ-FE while owners maintain that’s complete BS.
The issue may be the result of defective piston rings.

We started to notice that the gas gauge is beginning to display incorrectly! When we came to our first destination in one day, the gas gauge was at half full. Then later in that day we got back in the car to leave, and it said that we were at empty!
There's no visible gas leaks on the ground, and no check engine lights on. Sometimes we'll get in the car and the gas gauge will say there's more gas than when we last sat in it. The gauge is definitely malfunctioning, we are sure of it.
We'll take the car into Toyota soon, and I'll report back here with what their solution is.
