CarComplaints.com Notes: An increasing number of Toyotas are experiencing excessive oil consumption and the 2007 Camry seems to be leading the charge.
Owners are reporting that their engines are deprived of oil halfway through their maintenance schedules and in some cases the damage is so bad that entirely new engines need to be installed, paid out of pocket. The issue may be a result of defective piston rings.
Toyota has issued a TSB for this problem, but maintains their stance that vehicles equipped with a 2AZ-FE engine are burning through a “normal†amount of oil.

Driver's side sun visor has broken and will randomly drop down into field of view while driving - while this does not appear to affect my wife's visibility (she is 5' 1"), it will completely block my normal field of view (I am 6' 1"). I can only see immediately in front of the vehicle when it does this and requires me to duck down quickly to try to see while trying to move the visor away at the same time. This could have disastrous consequences if it happened while merging or pulling into traffic.
I have a 2007 Toyota Camry that I purchased used in 2008. For the past couple of months, the driver's side sun visor will not stay up causing it to fall and dangle in the driver's line of sight. This is also distracting while driving at night, I'm having to lean over or bend down to see around the unusable visor. I called Toyota to see if it was covered in my warranty and was told "no" becasue a sun visor is considered a trim. Toyota needs to recall these sun visors before a person has an accident and hurts themself or others due to the visor causing visiblity problems. I will not be buying another Toyota vehicle!!!
I have a 2007 Camry. My visor fell off and hit my head and I almost had a head-on collision today! this is a safety issue. Now the visor won't stay in closed position and it keeps falling down obstructing driver's view.
After I got this car, the following week I used the driver side sun visor and then folded back to the default position. After 2-3 seconds, the visor just flipped over from the default position (not from the clip) blocking the vision and for a moment I couldn't understand what was happening, but luckily there were not vehicles ahead of me and hence had enough time to recover. Now the visor wont stay back in the default position properly.

Drivers side sun visor has failed and falls down in front of driver causing a visibility issue. Toyota says it is not covered under warranty. It is obviously a defective part and searching online shows that this has happened to numerous other Camry drivers. Part should be recalled and replaced at no cost. I own 2 Toyota and purchased them because of the quality. This is not what I expect from Toyota and is a safety issue.
The visor does not work right. It keeps falling down. I had tried duct tape, velco and other methods but it did not last long. On August 18th, 2011 my daughter was traveling on 91 East, the visor suddenly dropped down. It blocked her view and made her lost control of her car for a second, which cause her to hit the orange stick divider of the exist.

Sun visor on driver's side stopped working. For about a year before it stopped, it would make a loud cracking sound anytime I adjusted it. Now it is hanging straight down and impairing my vision. I tied it to the grab bar above my door with cable ties (very attractive!), and it is totally unusable. Driving with the sun in my eyes is not safe and I have good quality sunglasses. I drive East in the am to work and West in the pm home. I can't avoid the sun.
Drivers side sun visor will not stay up. Hangs down and blocks visibility. Had to remove in order to drive car. I have never had a visor break on a vehicle before. We generally keep our vehicles at lease 15 years. This should be covered by Toyota.

Sun visor malfunctioned and became dislodged, dropping into the line of site, impairing vision at high speed, causing sudden deceleration on highway. Traffic collision avoided. Total loss of function in the visor without options of moving from line of site. Car was deemed dangerous and red tagged for operation. Visor completely removed so vehicle can be transported.
The sun visor on the driver side does not stay in place. It drops or completely falls down. It is a safety issue as it blocks the view of the driver and can cause a car accident. Many people has reported same kind of problem and Toyota does not want to make any recall to fix this problem. It is not a tear and wear issue. It is a manufacture defects.
Sun visor on passenger side would not longer stay in the up position. It hangs down, which blocks the driver's view to traffic approaching from the right.
Driver's side sun visor will not stay in the "up" position. Visor has been opened less than 100 times in the life of the car. After being opened, the visor will no longer operate. It hangs straight down impairing the driver's visibility of the road. A sun visor is one of the last items that should ever break in a car. The visor is substandard and creates a dangerous visibility problem.
