I loved my 99 Camry until last summer, it started stalling when warm and I was at a complete stop, seemed to be worse when the tank was low on fuel. When driving down the highway it would sometimes jerk like the gas flow to the engine stopped.
Then it started stalling when I was in motion, pulling up to a light, parking etc. My mechanic could never get the problem to repeat and he drove it like his own for a week. We decided to change the fuel pump and fuel pump strainer. Then it started accelerating randomly as well as stalling so we changed a part in the ignition that controlled the ideling.
I started getting gas at Esso and it stopped stalling, after about three months it started stalling again so I started using supreme that helped for a bit then the weather changed and my car started stalling again. I added Isoproponal to the gas and after I burned that tank all was well again for several months, then it started acting up again so I added more Isopropylyn and it has not helped.
I have spent over $1500.00 on my car and just want to sell it but need to solve this issue. I saw this reported in less detail with no comments so I am not the only one. Please if you have any idea let me know, I am desperate.
