I have a 1995 Toyota Camry the steering in it is not working well I found out there is a recall for that particular make and model. But I cant get Toyota to repair it.
While traveling on the highway without prior warning. The vehicle steering fell off. Please furnish additional information. The dealer is aware of the problem.
99 V 307 000/ manufacturer's recall # sscx06 concerning steering wheeel: Before repairs were done there was a clicking in the steering wheel. After repairs done steering wheel started to vibrate. Dealer, thomasville Toyota, thomasville, ga; phone# 229-228-0555 notified, and informed consumer that it was okay. Asking NHTSA help in this matter. Feel free to provide any further information on this matter.
Consumer took vehicle to dealer to have steering repaired under recall 99V307000. Dealer did not have the part in stock. Consumer was told it would take 2 months to get vehicle repaired.
When driving steering wheel malfunctioned/locked up, causing loss of steering control, and resulting in an accident. Also, recall 99V307000 dealt with same problem. However, this vehicle not included.

While driving steering wheel came off the steering column which may have caused an accident. Insurance company inspected, and said it had a loose screw in the steering column.
Driving at approximately 30 mph vehicle began to pull to the right. Went to pull vehicle over when steering wheel came off, causing loss of vehicle control which could have resulted in an accident.
