Engine temperature went up, checked coolant, was almost gone. Managed to reach destination by frequent stops. Turned out to be a faulty head gasket, a €25 piece of hardware. But Toyota refuses to repair, only wants to sell a replacement engine for €4100/ $4600.
This rendered my car to economic write off, bought is 1,5 years ago for €6000, could sell it for €1000.
Dealer, part of the Dutch toyota importer, offered €500, unless 8 bought one of their overpriced cars, then he could give me €2000.
I have heard that this engine gives many problems, dealer admitted that 'the 2.2 diesel is a problem engine'
