usb port will not charge iPhone 6
Ever since we have owned our Avalon we noticed that when plugging an iPhone 6 using the USB port connected to a lightning cable it would not actually charge the phone. Strangely the issue did not exist for an iPhone 5. We reported the issue to our dealer and they told us it was a known issue but not a Toyota issue, an Apple problem (huh?). Basically said there was no repair and no plans to address it. Very frustrating that you buy a new vehicle which is Toyota's flagship sedan and you can't even charge your phone via their USB port.
The fact they say it is an Apple issue is ridiculous. I have a very old USB connector that plugs into a cigarette lighter and can plug the iPhone 6 into it and it charges fine (which basically is our workaround since Toyota will not fix the issue).
