I got an oil change March 2017 and a couple weeks after I noticed that my car smoked at start-up so I'd put at least 2 quarts of oil in my car a week due to smoke coming from the exhaust at start-up. The check engine light is on and the car shakes from time to time.
I took the car to Serra Toyota May 2017 and was told there is an oil consumption recall on certain cars but not on the AVALON....WTF?! There's no oil on the ground under my car in my driveway and no oil under the hood anywhere like you'd think it would be with the amount of oil I'm losing.
I took my car to AutoZone to have the check engine light researched and it stated that I needed a ignition coil and there was a misfire in cylinder #3 meaning I needed to replaced that spark plug and ignition coil. I got those repaired along with a oil change and filter 10/2017 and the car still smokes at start up and consumes oil.
I took it back to the place that did the repairs and they had to give me 4 MORE QUARTS OF OIL!!! I just need TOYOTA to own up to the issue because I do not have THOUSANDS of dollars for an issue that is repaired FREE for some models and not for mine! And of course my warranty states OIL CONSUMPTION as an EXCLUSION for repairs!!!!
