The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Avalon. The contact started the ignition, and made several attempts before the gear selector would shift into the "drive" position. Steering colum adjusting control continues to release. This causes the steering wheel to go into the the dash area or up or down. There is no control of steering. Before this incident, oil burst all over the engine and drained out of my car, spilled onto the floor of my garage. The oil light or check engine light never came on. Dealer made repairs after keeping my car -not a recall notice but a noted problem. No power while pressing on the gas. There is a delayed reaction resulting in slow or no speed for passing or just driving (dealer indicated power trans problem - not recall kept car 3+ days for repairs). The grey paint has spots ithat will not come out with a wash and wax.

I own a 2007 Toyota Avalon. The transmission has a problem. When coasting down without accelerator being engage the transmission down shifts at 30 mph but the car speeds up. It is only 4-5 mph and after a few seconds then starts coasting down again. This problem has been investigated by the dealer and "there is nothing wrong". it has been reported to the Toyota technical service manager and "there is nothing wrong". it has been reported to Toyota customer service and we will get back to you but nothing happened. This car had the "stuck accelerator" problem two years ago and it was reported to the dealer and "no problem". the "stuck accelerator" only happened once and was not the problem of a floor mat. The car has had all the recalls performed on it but still has the speed up problem at each down shift.

Sudden acceleration when resume depressed from cruise and when laser beam returns from being enacted. The acceleration is sudden and neck-snapping. I no longer use laser but always use 'normal ' cruise since I had vehicle tested at bert wolfe Toyota, charleston wv and they advised that vehicle was performing normal. I return to 'set speed ' manually since that time. I have notified Toyota headquarters in California early in Feb.2010 and have no reply. There is definitely an electronic problem. The consumer stated the vehicle has electrical and computer problems. Updated IVOQ 06/02/10
