The contact owns a 2003 Toyota Avalon. The contact stated that the air bag indicator illuminated. The contact called a local dealer (pueblo Toyota, 2220 U S 50 w, pueblo, co 81008) where it was diagnosed that the driver's seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and did not assist. The failure mileage was 174,457.

The contact owns a 2003 Toyota Avalon. Upon starting the vehicle the air bag light illuminated on the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on numerous occasions where it was repaired. The failure continued to recur so the vehicle was taken back to an authorized dealer where he was informed the front drivers side seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 58,000.

Consumer placed hands between the driver's side and passenger's side seats to retrieve a pair of keys. While pulling up the keys from the side of the seat was a metal part sticking out from the side. This caused the driver's right hand fingers were cut and bleeding. Dealer was aware of the problem.
