2000 Avalon XLS - my wife was hit broadside by another car that ran a red light @~50 mph. The impact occurred on the drivers side and knocked the vehicle 25 feet sideways down the road. The side air bags failed to deploy. The car was deemed a total loss by the insurance company and they took possession of the vehicle.
While making a left-hand turn traveling approximately 3 to 5 mph, another car traveling approximately 40 mph impacted passenger's side of consumer's vehicle, and passenger's air bag failed to deploy. No determination has been made as to the cause of the problem. Passenger was injured, sustaining leg/hip/back, and chest injuries. Vehicle has been classified as a total loss by insurance company. Consumer states that Toyota has not responded back.
Consumer was driving at 60-65 mph, steered to right to avoid rage road and then made a sharp left, lost control of vehicle, and hit a concrete bridge head-on, and then rolled over 5 times. Dual airbags did not deploy. There was no warning of airbags being inoperative. Consumer states side air bags did not deploy when vehicle rolled over.
