I bought a new 2014 Toyota 4Runner. Less than 5 miles from the dealer, I entered the freeway and opened up the windows. It was at this point I could smell the exhaust entering the car. I later determined that when the back window (on the lift gate) is rolled down, exhaust enters the car. This caused my young daughter to develop a headache. The dealer pointed out that there was an entry in the owners manual that said, NOT to open the window when driving. WHAT? You knew about this and did not tell me about it prior to the sell?
As it turns out, the fix is simple. Just terminate the exhaust to the side of the vehicle instead of the rear. I called Toyota customer service and they told me not to roll down the window or take it up with an attorney. The fix is less than $65. Real ass holes! My first Toyota and last. I will sell it next year for a Mercedes. They know how to go out of their way to satisfy the customer.
