Rear under carriage / frame has excessive corrosion that shouldn't be consider normal wear. Truck was earlier recalled for replacement of leaf springs due to potential failure from corrosion. Likewise, do believe frame, like some earlier models of Tacoma's, should also be considered for recall. First signs of corrosion/rust began @ 2014 and has been progressing steadily.

Toyota takata recall and spiral cable assembly: 2011 Toyota 4runner horn stopped functioning. This vehicle, according to NHTSA, is affected by the takata airbag recall. On Sept 2, 2017, Toyota dealer diagnosed spiral cable assembly as cause of horn failure. Given the faulty spiral cable assembly as the cause of the horn failure and the apparent cause of the airbag malfunction, this faulty part raises two serious safety issues: No horn, potentially explosive airbag. Following the dealer service, we filed a concern with Toyota on Sept 5, 2017. Toyota customer service insisted on Sept. 12, 2017 that the vehicle is safe. We do not believe the vehicle is safe. The problem started while the car was in motion.

Rear frame cross memeber that also supports a bolt on hitch receiver and attaches to each of the vehicles side rails, that run the length of the vehicle is rusting. I have found several 1/4 inch rust created separations (holes) in the steel with surface rust crating future failues.

I had my great grandson in rear backside on right hand side, place the child safety lock on while he was with me until I returned him to his mother. Tried to remove the child safety lock was unable. Took it to Toyota of mcdonough they stated that something was broke. I purchase this truck from over $38,000 in 2011 never used the child lock until my great grandson. Toyota of mcdonough service department is telling me that I will be pay around about figure of $300 to $600 to have the part replace. I feel that since I have never use this until I had my great grandson why should I be responsible for the repair. I have continue to have my service done and not just that I have also purchase a 2014 corilla over $27,000 both vehicle brand new. Please give me some feed back on how to resolve this issue with this rear child safety lock.
