The contact owns a 2007 Toyota 4runner. While the vehicle was idle, with the brakes engaged the contact noticed that the engine would roar and surge forward intermittently. He had to place the vehicle in neutral and shut it off and wait several minutes before restarting the vehicle. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure nor provide an explanation of the failure. The manufacturer filed a complaint and provided the contact with a case number. The current mileages was 64,512. The failure mileage was 20,000.
The contact owns a 1997 Toyota 4runner. The contact was traveling 20 mph when the check engine light illuminated and moments later, white smoke was expelling from the exhaust pipes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 150,000 and the current mileage was 216,000.
