Like other complaints, I have made or will make about this Reno 2006 hatchback, the events are frequent and recurring, despite date noted on this form as to when it occurred. That is just the most recent. I have had these problems since taking ownership of the car a year ago.

Anyway, in this case the transmission slips, as it has been termed by others reporting on this issue. No acceleration, high RPMS with no acceleration. The bits mentioned about going through various steps, this is also the case, more out of a determination to find a setting or trick to make the vehicle move again. One day, I had the problem happen in a manner that almost seems reversed operations sort of... it was weird. and it was also sort of different. anyway the transmission was doing it's slippage thing again, only now, I couldn't get it to move out of the slippage of no acceleration.

Instead it remained in a gear setting not chosen by me, but rather seemed to be determined to move at 20 mph on it's own, not in gear presumably at all.. but of course it is in gear, just not one that I selected. The only thing that got the car to stop moving forward at 20 mph was to shut it off or hold down the brake pedal. Nothing else effected a gear change or scaling down of the change that the transmission was currently exploring.

Otherwise, it behaves exactly as other have described with no acceleration issues during commutes at various levels of difficulty and danger ..;. apparently not enough people have died and managed to have others sue and complain enough for this to really matter to anyone who can do anything about recalling this dangerous vehicle from the roadway altogether, or at least fixing its far too many safety issues.
