Air bag light came on again. The first time was five years prior, due to a faulty air bag module that needed replacing. Now -- I don't know. I've been leaving messages with the closest service center to me, and they've yet to get back to after two weeks. Next closest one is 50 miles away.
(Not to mention the finicky "PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF" light that goes on should my passenger dare to shimmy sideways in their seat for some reason and trip the weight sensor.)
Why is the airbag light on? If I'm lucky, it might be due to this little gem: "the front seat side airbag harness may be damaged from the front seat recliner hinge or the seat height adjuster. The damaged harness may cause the airbag readiness light to illuminate in the instrument panel and set a supplemental restraint system (SRS) diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1380, B1384 or B1379. If a damaged seat side airbag harness is not repaired, the seat side airbag may deploy within three seconds of turning on the ignition, or the seat side airbag may not deploy in an accident."
Fun! It hasn't blown up in my face yet, so that's good. Bummer that the warranty extension was only through 2020.
I'm looking for a new car now. Suzuki's airbag system and wiring are a f*cking joke, and I would not trust the airbags even if there's a successful diagnosis and repair. Something else is bound to pop up again.
Never buy a Suzuki.
