OK, the part that really fried me was that Subaru showed zero interest in what happened. Naturally they denied that they ever ever heard of such an incident.
I was rolling into the garage - no gas and my foot was on the brake. The car needed to roll 10 feet or so to park. When I shifted there was a surge and the car simply zoomed forward. IT DID NOT STOP till the car hit the garage wall. Very frightening. The problem now that I do not have faith. Will this happen again? I can't drive around thinking about what or what not the car may do.
Going on different sites, I'm reading that this is a current issue with certain models of certain years. I suspect it is a chip issue that controls the throttle. No one was hurt this time, but...
My car is generally wonderful. I enjoy all aspects of it, that why I bought this one. I don't want another car, I want Subaru to acknowledge that an inspection and replacement of needed changes is appropriate.
STEP UP, Subaru!! Do the right thing.
