Outback Limited 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission

Leather seats falling apart at under 36K is unacceptable. Dealer claimed normal wear and non-warranty. Poor quality product by Subaru and no accountability.

problem #1

Mar 022021

Outback Limited 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 36,000 miles

With only three years of use and about 36,000 miles on the vehicle, the seat bottom is tearing. It is adjacent to a seam where the oem seat cover was stitched together... I have never worn out a seat unless the car was over ten years old with mega mileage.

This appears to be poor materials being used... viewing a Subaru forum, it appears this is a common problem with the materials simply tearing due to poor quality control. The material used by Subaru doesn't look like any leather I have ever seen when looking at the cross section of the seat cover. Not sure what kind of cows were used to manufacture these covers.
