Hello, my windshield broke about 6 months after purchasing the vehicle. I don't know how or why. It was just broken one morning when I went out to my car. I figured a rock or something hit it. There was no recall at the time and so I had it replaced with a oem windshield. My second windshield just broke a couple of weeks ago while changing my wipers you can see where the ceramic wiper heater delaminated inside of the windshield. It turned bright red. I have owned alot of cars and never seen a windshield that is so fragile. I have changed many, many wiper blades and I know what a quality windshield is. I set the wiper blade holder down on the windshield gently and it cracked, the crack grew across the windshield in a day or so. Ridiculous. These windshields run about 500 bucks and should be better quality. I also have electrical problems where my car clock will not set... currently. It took them 3 years to figure out the steering retaining pin was broken even though I was complaining about it since I bought the car. The rear gate stopped opening and they had to replace the struts on a 3 year old car. There is something wrong with the front end but my dealer said "wait until it gets worse" can you believe that? thanks,

Key stuck in ignition when I parked and tried to take key out. I was away from home. Eventually, I moved gears and I pushed key inwards and it released. I just had a hefty repair bill before discovering recalls for this issue on earlier models.

The windshield on my 2015 Outback cracked from the driver's side bottom upward then turned toward the passenger side in an L shape. Took it to the Subaru dealership and they of course claim that there must have been an impact that caused the crack. The asst. Service manager actually argued with me and claimed that you could feel a point of impact where a rock "must have hit" and blamed that for the crack. I can feel no point of impact and was in fact driving the car when the crack happened and know that nothing hit the windshield. Despite the class action suit against these windshields, Subaru is still not willing to replace it after their "close and careful" inspection that took about 10 seconds. They told me the warranty would not cover it. They clearly know there is a problem with these windshields and are doing nothing to correct it, even refusing to replace ones that do have a problem. Besides being a bad business move for Subaru, this seems like a huge safety issue for consumers.

Windshield spontaniously cracked from passenger B piller to center. Was getting ready to leave a motel in AZ on a cold, frosty rainey day. I had turned on defroster and heater. As we started to move the vehicle to the freeway, passenger and I both heard a pop and noticed a crack running from behind the passenger B piller to the center. No other vehicles were moving near my vehicle. Subaru has denied claim claiming windshield damaed by a rock. I have never notice a rock strike on the windshield. The vehicle was in motion but not in traffic- on access road.

The srvd (blind spot) not working indicator light comes on--meaning the blind spot mechanism will not work. I have turned the car off and started again which may eliminate the problem. There have been other published complaints as detailed in consumer forums on the internet. The blind spot light on the outside mirrors will will not work if the srvd is not functioning.

Please read upload documents. My 2015 Subaru Outback began showing signs of excessive oil consumption in the summer 2018. Apparently this was a known problem with Subaru and class action lawsuit was filed against Subaru for models made prior to 2015. My vehicle failed a oil consumption test in the fall of 2018. I was told by white bear Subaru if the vehicle failed an oil consumption test Subaru of America would pay to have a new short block installed due to this ongoing engine defect. However, Subaru of America refused to pay the full amount to have a new short block installed as even though my car was make in 2014 it is technically a 2015 that the class action lawsuit only protected consumers of models prior to 2015. Also, in the fall of 2018 the interior of this vehicle began to have a exhaust smell and was making me feel sick. They determined that part of the exhaust system was broken but told me not to have it fixed before the new short block was installed and the exhaust system would just become clogged with the oil the car was burning. I went ahead had had the repair done anyway as the exhaust air was terrible.

We were driving our 2015 Subaru Outback at about 55mph on US20, the temperature was in the mid 30's, in East Oregon when our sunroof spontaneously exploded. There were no other vehicles around and there was no impact from foreign objects. There was a loud, distracting, bang followed by a cloud of shattered glass coming from the back of the car. The sunroof cover was closed and the tempered glass fragments collected in the well and rattled around for the remaining 3 1/2 hours of our journey.

Exhaust system issue. Exhaust mainfold leak at catalyst converter. For our Outback we noticed a significant levels of exhaust fumes in passenger cabin. They were no indication of failure of exhaust system or catalyst converter on the car. But we are getting some much fumes smell when we stopped at the traffic signal or parking lot. It all most made us sick. Luckily I got it checked at the service center and they find the leak. This is potentially a very risky thing for people who don't notice the smell might get slow poisoned with carbon monoxide or other elements in exhaust fumes. There may be direct injury from this issue but as I said I was almost got sick because of fumes. For people with pzev vehicle, the exhaust system is covered under warranty. Please bring this issue with manufacturing. For people out there if you notice a loud exhaust note at start of your vehicle or small rattling noise when we you accelerate after a complete stop, it might be your exhaust system, please get it checked as soon as possible. While parking the car at an open parking lot in shopping center at low speed (<5mph) the engine surged suddenly and the vehicle accelerated uncontrollably. It required tremendous pressure on brake to eventually override the engine.

After 2 years of ownership on my brand new Subaru Outback 2015, I have noticed a loud squeaky sound coming from the engine when I start my car after it rained/snowed. The sound would go away after a few minutes, however, it didn't seem normal. I took the car to the dealership to have it checked out. The dealership told me that nothing is wrong and it is perfectly fine. However, the squeaky noise still occurs after rain/snow. It seems to me that water is leaking into a belt when it's not suppose to and it is causing the noise when the engine is started. Subaru needs to look into this issue because this problem only happens after it rains/snows and cannot be replicated when the car is brought to the dealership. Therefore, it is hard to have this issue fixed.

Unexpected acceleration after parking, jump curb into tree, causing $7,000 in damage. Air bags did not deploy, both myself and passenger hit knees on dash, even with our seat belts still on. Had other computer issues earlier that day, back up sensors didn't work while backing car right behind mine. This concerns a 2015 Subaru Outback limited 6 cylinder. At approx 21,000 mi I was slowing to speed to park in a public parking space on a city street and the Outback sudden acceleration. The Outback hit a city metal post/sign, jumped the curb and collided with a building and damaging a store front with great force. The airbags did not deploy and the automatic collision prevention failed to work. Once before the car had an acceleration surge while driving a public city street at low speed but did not hit anything. Prior to the accident I've also experienced slight hesitation in acceleration when I first accelerate from a stationary position and probably unrelated, the gear shift often gets stuck in park and I have to use force the gear shift to reverse. Having trouble with turning neck from side to side and need to see doctor for evaluation so, not sure if this is considered injury?

Sunroof exlosion. On February 1, 2016 my wife was driving to work at about 8:00 am rush hour and while in the moving line entering the eastward us I69 at the Texas hwy 6 South entrance in sugar land Texas, at an average speed between 5-10 mpg the sunroof of our 2016 Subaru 3.6R with 11305 miles exploded and shattered into hundreds of small pieces that collected on the sunlight protective screen. After I talked to my wife and verified that she had received no damage from the incident I called the gillman southwest houston Subaru dealership where we bought the car on May 30 2015 and made a service appointment for the next day. During the service check-in on February 2, 2016 together with the gillman service consultant we looked as thoroughly as it was possible through the glass debris to try to find any foreign object that might have caused the damaged but we did not find anything. I very specifically requested that when the sunroof was taken out of the car for replacement that they perform another search since it would be easier to do the search with the sunroof assembly out on the floor. When the car was repaired and returned the gillman representative confirmed that they had done another search but failed to find any foreign object on the glass debris. Because the dealership did not have a sunroof on stock I left the car on the dealership until February 5, 2016 when the car was returned. During the checkout I was informed that the repairs were not covered under the car warranty because it was assumed that a foreign object had caused the damage and I was charged $666.34 the December 2017 edition of consumer reports made me realize that this is a potential safety issue that should be reported.

There is a crack in the windshield that showed up about 5 months and has increased in size. Before brining it to the dealer (napoleon Subaru in schaumburg, il), I had the vehicle checked by a local mechanic and was told the crack was due to the faulty windshield and not because of any impact. There has been no impact to the windshield to my knowledge and yet the crack appeared and has spread. Subaru dealer said that the crack may have been caused by an impact but again I don't recollect any impact that could cause this. The Subaru dealer said he did his pen point check and the crack was not caused by Subaru's fault. What the Subaru dealer told me about the pen point check makes no sense to me especially as there has been no impact to my windshield. I am very disappointed that Subaru and the dealer are lying about the faulty windshield and are refusing to replace it (which I am assuming is also a faulty oem part). I have owned several cars before and I've never had this issue before. I repeat, never before on any car, especially a new car. I checked with a local mechanic and again, was told this was likely caused by faulty windshield. Either to avoid admitting fault or to avoid paying for a recall for this item or for avoiding liability in a lawsuit, I don't know but I feel like Subaru is deliberately lying or misrepresenting the facts about it. I don't know what I should expect from writing this complaint but I am writing because I am extremely disappointed with this. We were considering a Subaru forrester for next year but I am not going to do that now given how badly Subaru is treating me on this fault of theirs. I suspect Subaru will not do the right thing despite it being Subaru's fault at putting in a bad windshield and instead push the cost to the car buyers. I can be reached on the cell at [xxx]. thanks.
