poor quality paint

I bought this car in 2014. The paint on the passenger door is peeling I went to Subaru and they told me that it is out of warranty. They want $1,400 to paint the passenger door.

Update from Oct 30, 2018: Subaru has agreed to split the bill with me

worst paint ever! it scratches if you just look at it

The paint on this car is simply the worst. We have owned over thirty different cars. My husband is a forester and drives up and down logging roads all day. His rig looks better than mine and I just drive mine to work and back. Every time I touch it, it seems to leave a scar. The curve behind the door handle is scratched all to hell....just from opening the handle! Everything is cheap plastic and the bumper paint is scratched from people tapping it. I mean, c'mon Subaru. You are supposed to be all about that outdoor life! We've owned four other Subies, including a 1974 wagon that was passed down over and over and over again with only reasonable repairs made. None were as bad as this car. It seems that the pressure to look less like a wagon and more like an SUV has taken the quality down a notch. This 2014 has ruined it for me. I won't buy another Subaru.
