I was traveling on the highway at 70mph and the emergency brake activated. I was lucky that the vehicle behind me was able to hurry and change lanes or we would have been hit. I got the car to the side of the road before it locked up completely. Once it did so, I could not move the car foreward or back. It was as if it was stuck in place. I ended up having to call for a tow truck and a State Patrol officer to keep us safe until the tow truck could get there as 18-wheelers were driving at a high rate of speed and getting too close to my vehicle. The subaru was then towed to my home due to being around 6pm and auto repair shops were closed. This is the third time in 4 months that my emergency brake has activated on its own.
